Lending Association Shines Bright at Inaugural Shine Ball for Ovarian Cancer Research with an $100K Contribution!
The LA Group was honoured to sponsor the inaugural Shine Ball charity event this year in August, marking a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to giving back to the community. The evening was not just a gathering of friends and colleagues but a powerful demonstration of collective support for a cause that touches the lives of so many: ovarian cancer research.
An Evening of Elegance and Purpose
Held at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel Sydney, the Shine Ball was an unforgettable evening filled with elegance, first-class dining, and spectacular entertainment. Guests were treated to performances by some of Australia’s most celebrated talents, including Paulini, Vince Sorrenti, and the electrifying violinist Cardinia. The evening was expertly hosted by Jane Flemming OAM OLY, who added a touch of class and inspiration to the event. The night concluded with late-night dancing, courtesy of Slide McBride, leaving attendees with memories to cherish.
Lending Association’s Commitment to Making a Difference
At Lending Association, we believe that supporting initiatives that make a real difference is not just a responsibility but a privilege. This evening was dedicated to raising much-needed funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF), an organisation whose mission is close to our hearts.
We are incredibly proud to announce that Lending Association was not only the major sponsor of the Shine Ball but also made an additional donation of $50,000, bringing our total contribution to an impressive $100,000. This donation is in support of our dear friend Dr. Christopher Ho and his unwavering efforts to raise critical funds for the OCRF.
Why Ovarian Cancer Research Matters
Ovarian cancer is a devastating disease that affects countless women and their families. Despite its significant impact, it remains one of the most underfunded areas of cancer research. The statistics are sobering: one woman dies every eight hours from ovarian cancer in Australia. Yet, survival rates have barely improved over the years due to the lack of progress in early detection and treatment options.
The funds raised at the Shine Ball are vital in supporting groundbreaking research that will one day lead to better detection methods, more effective treatments, and, ultimately, a cure. Our contribution, along with the generous support of all who attended the event, is a step towards making this a reality.
A Night to Remember, A Cause to Champion
The Shine Ball was not just about enjoying a night of entertainment and fine dining; it was about making a difference. Every ticket purchased, every donation made, contributes directly to funding research that has the potential to save lives. The overwhelming support and generosity displayed at the event are a testament to the power of community and corporate responsibility.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the Shine Ball, making it a night of inspiration and impact. Together, we can continue to shine a light on ovarian cancer, pushing for better research, better treatment, and better outcomes.
Lending Association is proud to stand with the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation in the fight against ovarian cancer. We look forward to continuing our support in the years to come and to seeing the positive impact of the funds raised at this remarkable event.
