Sydney, 26 July 2024 – The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopters marked a significant milestone, celebrating 50 years of heroic service with a gala dinner at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf. We are thrilled to announce the event was a resounding success, thanks to the support of 420 generous attendees and our wonderful host, Sylvia Jeffreys.
The Lending Association was proud to support this event, demonstrating our commitment to community partnerships and lifesaving services.
This special evening not only commemorated our service’s longstanding history but also helped raise crucial funds to support our mission. Over the past five decades, our helicopters have completed over 100,000 missions, providing life-saving assistance to those in need, with no cost ever passed on to the individuals we help.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Surf Life Saving Australia, Westpac, the NSW Government, Randwick City Council, and all the supporters and donors. Not only for the work on the night but also for their ongoing work. Your unwavering support enables these incredibly valuable and dedicated rescuers to continue their vital work – saving lives every day.
A highlight of the evening was the heartfelt stories shared by several of our rescuers. These moving accounts provided insight into the critical and courageous work performed by our teams and underscored the importance of the community and corporate support that makes our service possible.
